STUMP GRINDING
When safe removal of your tree or trees is completed, we can provide you with our stump grinding service. We specialise in difficult access stump removal solutions and perform this service in all areas and on any size of stump. The machine will grind the stump down to well below ground level, including visible surface roots as well. Normally the chips are left in the remaining hole and the excess is either used as mulch in surrounding landscape or we will remove them.
TREE SURGERY
Certified arborists and trained professionals in the field understand how each tree species will react to different types of treatments. Most regular maintenance pruning can be done at any time of the year.
Crown Clean-out:
Is the selective removal of dead, diseased, detached and broken branches. This reduces risk of branches falling from the tree and reduces damage from insects and diseases from dead or dying branches into the rest of the tree.
Pruning to Raise:
Is the selective removal of branches to provide vertical clearance. This is done to provide clearance for buildings, signs, vehicles, pedestrians and to restore views.
Cabling:
Involves the installation of high strength cables to increase structural integrity in trees where the tree has a structural weakness that can be improved by cabeling techniques.
Pruning to Reduce:
Is the selective removal of branches and stems to decrease the height and / or spread of a tree. This is done to minimize risk of failure, reduce height of spread, utility line clearance, to clear vegetation from buildings or to improve appearance of a plant.
When pruning trees, these are the only cuts that should be made:
* Eliminating branches that intersect and rub against each other
* Removing dead or weak branches that may be hazardous or may lead to decay
* Removing diseased or insect infested limbs
* Removing limbs damaged by storm conditions
* Removing limbs that interfere with wires or buildings
* Training young trees
* Eliminating excessive tip weight
* No branch should be removed without a reason.
Although tree removal is a last resort, there are circumstances when it is necessary. We can help you decide whether or not a tree should be removed. With the correct equipment, experience, and skills, the tree can be safely and efficiently removed. We carry public liability insurance.
Removal is recommended when the tree is:
* Dead or in decline
* Considered irreparably hazardous
* Crowding or causing harm to other trees
* Causing an obstruction that is impossible to correct through pruning
* Causing damage to the surrounding landscape, building, or pavement

Vertical mulching, mulching with wood chip or stone or fruit pits are some of the many ways of mulching both old trees and new plantings. Mulching improves the water retention capabilities of the soil, assissts in reducing the growth of weeds and lessens the impact of compaction over the sensitive root areas.
